TMGB members’ children receive scholarships and educational materials
Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB), an organization of technology journalists, has distributed scholarships 2024 and educational materials to the children of its members. The scholarships were awarded in a grand ceremony at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dhaka University on Friday.
The event, chaired by TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, was attended by Daffodil International University and Daffodil Family Chairman Md. Sabur Khan, Bangladesh Association of Contact Centers and Outsourcing (BACCO) President Tanvir Ibrahim, Smart Technologies Bangladesh Limited Managing Director Md. Zahirul Islam, ECS Computer City Senior Joint Convener Wahidul Hasan Dipu, and Fronttech Limited Managing Director Redoan Ferdous.
A total of 41 students were awarded scholarships and educational materials at the event. The scholarship recipients are students of pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher secondary levels.
In his speech, the guest Md. Sabur Khan said, ‘Such support to the children of professionals associated with the Technology Media Guild will add more enthusiasm to their educational life. This is a great initiative and such initiatives are needed in other areas of society as well.’ Addressing the students, he said that focusing on the interests of students from an early age will make it easier to determine what they want to build their career in later life and they will be able to prepare accordingly.
Tanvir Ibrahim said, ‘Students are now more addicted to mobile or various devices. However, parents should take their children to the field to play games instead of focusing on mobile devices. They should ensure that they do not get addicted and use digital devices properly.’
Wahidul Hasan Dipu said, ‘Such initiatives will make students more interested in their studies.’
Md. Zahirul Islam said, ‘TMGB has always taken all kinds of initiatives. This time too is no exception. This scholarship will encourage today’s children to become great people.’
Redwan Ferdous said, ‘For the past few years, Bangladesh has been making waves in the World Robot Olympiad. If students are interested, they can start working with robots right now. Just as an educational system like making robots has been introduced in the country, children are also provided with equipment to practice it.’ At this time, he welcomed the TMGB scholarship initiative and expressed his support.
TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin said in his closing speech, ‘The main goal of this program is to encourage the children of our members to pursue education. There are plans to bring more students under this scholarship in the future.’
The program was moderated by TMGB General Secretary Mursalin Haque Junaid.
Among others present at the scholarship award ceremony for 2024 were TMGB Vice President (Member Welfare) Rishad Hasan, Vice President (Government and Corporate Relations) Kumar Bishwajit Roy, Vice President (International) Moidul Islam, Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul, Organizing Secretary Golam Dastgir Touhid, Executive Member Nazmul Hossain, etc.
The students and their guardians present at the ceremony appreciated this initiative of TMGB. TMGB hopes that this scholarship will boost the confidence of the students and help them succeed in their future educational careers.
