New Rover Orientation Program held at Daffodil International University
Daffodil International University Air Rover Unit organized “New Rover Orientation program and Annual prize giving ceremony at DIU Auditorium today on June 17, 2013. Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University Dr. Aminul Islam was present on the occasion as the chief guest. Group Captain Syed Shakil Ali, Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts (Air Region) was present on the occasion as the special guest while Wing Commander Md. Rafiqul Islam, Secretary, Bangladesh Scouts (Air Region) was present as the guest of Honor. Presided over by Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, President, DIU Air Rover Scout Group and Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, the function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. M. Mizanur Rahman, Treasurer, Daffodil International University and Mr. Md. Emran Hossain, Secretary, DIU Air Rover Scout Group. The program was conducted by Rover Scout Leader Ms. Farhana Rahman Setu and Mr. Shaiful Islam. Prizes were distributed among the winners of different competitions and a gala cultural program was performed by the roves.Addressing as the chief guest Dr. Aminul Islam said, Scout orientation is very important and historical event for a Scout which inspire him to engage himself in scouting through self rectification of mind. He urged the rovers to maintain and follow the rules and ideas of Baden Powell to create a beautiful world for all. He appreciated the recent activities done by the Rovers of Daffodil International University and urged to keep up the speed. He also said, introducing Rover Movement at the university, Daffodil International University has set an example to be followed by other private universities.
In the presidential address Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman Said, Scouting helps the students to increase interaction among them, gain experience and focus themselves to perform well in professional life and also to get exposure. He urged the rovers to utilize the gained experience and knowledge from scouting to build a bright future and successful career. He urged them to boost up the speed and also to encourage their friends and involve them in Scout Movement to proudly represent them in future job market. He also said, Scouting can play a vital role in developing career and building character of a student though which students can practice of becoming a successful leader and contribute a lot to the society.

It may be mentioned that this is for the first time in the history of Private Universities of Bangladesh to introduce Rover Movement at Daffodil International University.
